It's best to assume good intent from the in-laws. They aren't trying to control you, or ruin your vacation. They see the purpose of the trip as family time and want to maximize family time together. That's good intent. So the trick is to find a way to maximize family time in such a way that everyone enjoys, not just them. Because, tbh, if you're not interested in spending time with them, then you should probably cancel the trip[/quote]
