Why do all that testing if there’s nothing you can do about it?
That was my approach, but I know of a woman who aborted 2 pregnancies after nuchal ridge testing because the babies *might* have down's. I was keeping the pregnancy, unless my life was at risk, so nothing more than sonograms for me.
It’s not down’s. It’s Down Syndrome. Not Down’s syndrome. Please be respectful. One reason people have testing done even when they won’t terminate is to learn about the challenges they’ll face and to understand the medical needs of their child. IMO, it’s best to be educated and prepared for challenges, know what resources are available to me, and have extra supports lined up in advance. I guess others prefer not to even learn the proper name of syndromes their child may have, and just cross their fingers and hope for the best.
