That's not true. The vast majority of kids at the wealthy schools were investing 10 to 20K the in prep classes where they were given the answers to the test used to decide admissions. This made it impossible for anyone who didn't have the cash to spend on these classes to compete and kept out all but the wealthy. This was so common that one center alone posted the names of their students who were admitted which accounted for 30% of the entering class that year.[/quote]
