OK - then how about Blair vs Reimer?
Blair. I wasn’t a fan of Reimer’s before, but his constant social media attacks have not impressed me. He seems to revel in insulting others, especially his competitors. He’s the only one running such a negative campaign. I also don’t like his treatment of MCPD. I think it shows how duplicitous he is. He was on the attack against MCPD for years. Now that he’s running for county exec, he has found some new love for them… but only for management. I’m under the impression this is only to show some facade of support for the department during the election cycle while still allowing him to vilify officers.
Op here and I think it needs to drop out otherwise we’re going to end up splitting the vote again. He had no chance and should recognize that sooner rather than later.
I don't think he can drop out because he's getting public financing.
You can’t drop out if you have public financing???
They have to pay back all the public financing with interest. If he has that in his account still, then fine. But if he's spent it, he's SOL.
This. Big flaw in the system. I'm a County employee voting for Blair. I've seen the other two up close and personal in action, and I'll take my chances with Blair. I'm not a moderate, but if I was, Blair would really be the only choice. Neither Marc nor Hans is moderate at all. In my opinion, the biggest problem we have right now is the eroding business tax base. Businesses mean jobs and money for schools, roads, parks, social programs, police, etc. MoCo is dead last in the region for creating and sustaining white collar jobs, which is an enormous hit to our budget. Both Marc and Hans have contributed heavily to this situation. Something has to change, and Blair seems to get that. At least I figure there's a chance of improvement with Blair. I know things don't get better with the other two.
