Why does this matter?   Because no sane person wants to be a police officer in this jurisdiction anymore, when right next door in Howard County, the County Executive pays police better and regularly visits and supports police on social media.

And as much as some of you may hate police, the absence of police allows violent crime to seep in.   We need political leadership throughout the county that supports good policing and holds bad policing accountable.   They are all about going after bad police work (which they should).   But they never, ever praise the department for good police work. [/quote]
