Someone put my address on a package and i bent over backwards to figure out where this person lived. Basically, they addressed it their names at 100 Main Street but they live at 110 Main Street. I didn't know their name. had to ask around. I took the package to 110 Main street. not even a thank you from them. Never again. it was a case of wine, BTW. If you're too stupid to put the correct address on it, then i'm keeping it next time.
I deliver misplaced packages from time to time. I leave it at the correct house. I do not have a conversation about it. Sounds like you walked a few houses down. The address was a typo. It happens. I would not even have rung the bell. It just a courtesy. Vyou are not a hero.
No one knew "the Smiths." I looked for 2 days. Seriously. I'm not a hero, but I'm not going to go out of my way to find something. Also, if you're ordering something that's valuable, double check the address. FedEx delivered it to the right address. FedEx didn't GAF that "The Smiths" are at a different house.
