I am surprised to hear that both Frumin and Finley are in favor of reducing police funding. I've just looked over both of their websites and come away disappointed that there's no clear commitment from either to a reduction in policing. In fact, Frumin's campaign site calls for more police staffing. I for one feel like we all owe a debt of gratitude to the folks who stood up in front of Trump's goons last summer and held on to our democracy when there were unmarked secret police at the ready; when they said "defund the police" they meant "defund the police."
[twitter]https://twitter.com/saulehforanc/status/1528558642974294017?s=20&t=I8OHJiX-mD6DLdnssFd_-w[/twitter] Frumin has been waffling very hard on this issue (as he seems to do on all issues including housing and building more public schools in Ward 3). He wants to get votes, not actually lay out positions for what he will do as a council member. Frumin's articles on both policing https://fruminforward3.com/food-for-thought-public-safety/ and schools https://fruminforward3.com/food-for-thought-new-schools/ fail to take actual stances on the issues being covered. The only candidates who support a reduction in policing from my research seem to be Beau Finley and Henry Cohen, the 18-year-old Wilson High School student running.
