I think it’s so gross to think about urine in relation to my job. For one job, I went a facility and used a bathroom where they had removed the running water and colored the toilet water blue. That way, people could not dilute their urine. I was treated as guilty or as though I had committed a crime. At another job, they said at the last minute I had to come into the office. I was headed out of town and said no. When I showed up to my first day, an embarrassed HR worker greeted me in the lobby and said I had to walk to a lab and pee in a cup. She barely made eye contact with me. That was my “welcome” to the “illustrious” WaPo. No more drug tests for me. I don’t do drugs. If they can’t tell that by looking at me, that’s not my problem.
Some bizarre statements here: - you don't have to think about urine unless you're in Healthcare. I don't know why you would think about urine at work just because you once had to do a drug screen - it's pretty standard to have measures to prevent diluting of urine in the bathroom. Of course it's a trust but verify, that's the entire point of a drug test - most importantly, your statement that an employer should be able to tell by looking at you that you don't use drugs is quite telling. The point of drug screening is to identify high functioning addicts. And you can't tell that someone uses drugs by appearances only.
