Whole daycare class gets stuck with a 10 day quarantine if there’s a positive test at our school. It’s not sustainable for working parents. Not to mention disruptive for kids. And totally unnecessary. Therefore, no test, no positive, no quarantine! [/quote]

DP your name calling doesn't change the fact the PP is correct. Nobody else is quarantining, only the youngest kids. [b]We're putting the entire burden of stopping COVID transmission on families with young children in daycare. [/b]It's BS, harmful to the kids and not effective. It is rationale and predictable for many families to take this approach and no more unethical than the entire approach of public health guidance which is to pretend the pandemic is over for all childless adults. Actually, the whole idea of "stopping covid transmission" is not realistic - we thought in March 2020 that if we wore masks and stayed inside and away from everyone for 3 or 3 or 4 months that we could stop the transmission and stop covid completely.  That didn't work, didn't happen, and so now we will need to live with it, just like we live with the Flu every winter.  That means staying home if sick, getting tested if sick, and keeping away from people if you positive for covid.  And if you are positive, telling the people you work with, your friends you socialized with, and the nanny, family childcare provider, childcare center or school that your child is positive when they are.  That way they can quarantine people as necessary (only necessary if you aren't boosted and otherwise up-to-date on your vaccine), so all kids under 5 years old and those adults who won't get boosted or even vaxxed.

Actually, it DID work. Many more people would have died otherwise and the hospitals would have been stressed to the point of collapse. How is this not common knowledge by now?[/quote]
