In 1973, what did the Z stand for?
What it actually shows in the cartoon: nazi Germany Z29 destroyer https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_destroyer_Z29
Thanks. Wow, prescient.
The conversation in the cartoon, after the robot shows the “Z29” letter on the ship: Boy 1: all clear. fascist destroyer. Boy 2: how do you know? Boy 1: I read about it: fascist destroyers were designated with the letter Z. No wonder it’s getting scrubbed from all russian programming, it’s calling a spade a spade. They have been shouting how everyone in Ukraine is nazi/ fascist, to discover that they are using a nazi Germany designation on their equipment.
Putin using the Z designation has been weird to me from the start. Cyrillic doesn’t have a Z like that—the z looks like a 3. I haven’t seen any real explanation for why he has been using Z. Maybe he got punked by some history geek in his own government.
For brand sustainability. To keep the brand recognition when they move next to Poland or Baltic states.
Why do you think they will be able to move to Poland or the Baltic states? It’s a nonexistent threat. Russia would be lucky to move more than km in to a nato country. It would be a slaughter.
I did not say they will do that this year. But if they do have victory in Ukraine, the war will not stop there. 3, 4, 5 years down the road, there will be another. How long do you think will russia need to power up its military, if there is victory in Ukraine, some form of peace agreement on russia’s terms, and eventual weakening of sanctions? Also, this is what russia’s recent history seems to indicate. A war every 6 years or so.
