The thinking is that she was scared off by being involved in this drama. Their attempt to influence the process backfired. 
Whether or not she left the process because of the letter, it was incredibly arrogant to send it in the first place. The idea that they think they deserve a seat on an interview panel is ridiculous. Every organization would like a seat. [/quote]
