They've managed to keep Presidents from being assassinated by nuts and terrorists for the past 50 years. You might want to relook at the success rate of protecting the president. Remember John Hinckley Jr.? He was not some mastermind terrorists. He just walked up and shot the president. You think the secret service would be able to handle that?  What about the guy with a knife who jumped the fence at the WH and made it into the residence before being noticed. How about the guy who pulled out a gun and shot up the WH? There are many more examples of just being lucky vs professional protection. The agency is a total cf.

If a terrorist organization or state sponsored actors came after the president the secret service has shown no ability to protect the president. The only reason the president has not been assassinated is luck and the likely retaliation from the US not because of the competency of the secret service. Hell Biden insisted on replacing agents because he was told they were security risk before he took office. [/quote]
