Have you ever noticed that all the angry DILs here on DCUM chastise, insult and mock men who consult with or tell their moms anything, especially about their marriage or their wife, but nobody does the same when a woman mentions talking to or consulting with her own mother? Why is that?
Hateful sexist women. This board is full of them.
It's a little odd though that so many of them don't seem to realize that one day they will be the mom and will likely want their grown sons to feel free to talk to them.
There is a world of a difference between talking to their moms as a grown man versus running to their mom and complaining every time their wife is being “mean” and “acting like a baby”. How childish and immature. And if I were a mother, I’d be embarrassed for my son that he was acting like that and remorseful that I did not teach him better. The relationship between the DIL and MIL is fragile as it is, and it requires a bit of maturity, respect, and work on the part of the son to make it a good one. The first person the son should turn to when facing a problem with his wife, is…. HIS WIFE.
