]"Cop Killer" by Ice T was never socially acceptable, but it exists. On the 16-17 year old thing, Joan Jett sings of a 17 year old "standing by the record machine" I remember thinking Aerosmith's "Rag Doll" was pretty pervy when the video came out when I was a teen. "Baby It's Cold Outside" is charming IMO, but date rape song apparently.
I saw Public Enemy and Ice-T/Body Count at UMd back in the day. Hundreds of police officers and others were protesting outside of the venue. Ice-T said he promised he wouldn't perform the song. Public Enemy closed the show with the song. I remember exiting the venue and kids were still singing the song as we passed the protest. I look back on it now with mixed feelings. To be clear, "Cop Killer" was about police brutality.
What year was this?
