This is the key word.  The family and child viewed their child as a prodigy.  The adult child has bought into this by the post.  Mistake.  Therein lies the problem ... an overinflated view of oneself.  What does this have to do with the pursuit of academic excellence.  Many children of Tiger moms do not view themselves as prodigies.[/quote]
