What is your age, height and weight? What would you like your weight to be? How active are you? This info will help get you more focused advice
I’m in my 30s, 5’, around 97lbs. I’d like to get up to 100 at least, maybe 105. I’m not exercising much currently due to an injury - not able to lift or do body weight exercises - or I would be doing that and trying to eat even more calories. Ideally I’d be over my injury and be able to build back some lost muscle. I feel frail at this weight, which is why I’m trying to gain. I had a very restricted diet when I was eating for reflux, so maybe the orthorexia comments are coming out of that. I don’t generally obsess over what I eat - I downloaded an app and started logging all my food to see if I’m getting enough calories and protein for weight gain.
You are seeing several specialist doctors, are injured, and seem to fixated on what you believe to be “healthy” foods…and you are only 30something? Is there a mental illness component going on?
? I'm seeing the specialists at the advice of my PCP. Perhaps my PCP is overly cautious? She's referred me to a gastro, heart specialist, wants me to get my lungs checked... I was wondering if it's time to find a different doctor. She's not a kook and is well credentialed at INOVA, but I am tired of all the medical appointments. I am having dental issues, which is why I am seeing my dentist and was referred to a periodontist. I'm not sure why I have so many different issues cropping up, but it's come on the heels of pregnancy and recovering from Covid. The injury isn't related - I hurt my hand on a door. I saw my PCP for it and finally sought out an ortho because it hasn't gotten better over several months.
