As this article notes, previous studies did not have a control group. While I fully recognize long COVID is real (a very close friend of mine has it), it is difficult to study. This was the first one that actually used a control group.[/quote]

It wasn’t the first with a control group. But the results were consistent with the other controlled studies. As you said, long Covid is real, just like long flu is real. https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pmed.1003773

I have a friend with long covid (he was one of the unlucky people who got sick in February 2020) and it took him months to recover but he finally on the mend and back to running marathons.[/quote]
