Evelyn and Eleanor sound vintage and charming, because most of us (millennials) did not grow up with anyone with these names. We did grow up with Ericas and Erins, whether they be peers/moms/family friends. People don't like giving their children the names of people they grew up with, which is why there are very few little Ashleys, Michelles, Jennifers, Jessicas, and Emilys.

I get your point but just wanted to say you’re wrong about there being very few little Emilys. Emily is still in the top 20 in the country as of last year.[/quote]

I get Emily is still popular. It's just the least exciting name, especially for those of us who know hundreds of Emilys at every age.[/quote]
