MCPS has 1000s of employees outside of teachers who can telework because their jobs do not require in location presence. For example, why would an IT person need to report in? [/quote]

They can call in to get voicemail and they can have the calls forward to their home or cell phone.[/quote]
Or they can install Webex on their MCPS issued laptops and receive calls in real time. There is no need for office phones - all calls can be handled on a laptop. As for security issues, just make sure all employees who are teleworking log into a VPN.
