I also recently took actions to get irresponsible dog owners to stop running their dogs on soccer fields near me. Police enforcement and better signs. There is a dog park right next to these fields. I hear that the dog park is a mud pit, that's why the dog owners don't want to use it and instead play with their dogs on the soccer fields intended for children or adults playing sports. Like guess what? I do not want our soccer field to become a mud pit like the dog park. I think the city spent hundreds of thousands of dollars recently on this field, irrigation and turf etc. I do not understand the entitlement of dog owners. In the city, it is every green space ruined by dogs. You might be like, it's just my one sweet dog playing frisbee! I pick up his poop! But multiply by 75+ dogs per day. It is not just you and your special dog! I would see entire dog parties on this field, 20 dogs at a time in the morning and after work. That is a field getting raked by dog claws like a gardening tool, constantly. And pee that kills the grass. Repeatedly. All day. That's why the dog park looks like shit. Do not ruin the kids' field too! This issue has made me against getting a dog, even though I love dogs, and my kids love dogs, and I grew up having dogs. I loathe how dog owners are so thoughtless in the city.
