There are such areas.  They're called dog parks.  People who bring their kids under 12 to dog parks, which generally have posted rules prohibiting that, aren't any better than the dog owner here.

Dog parks for the most part aren't safe for dogs.   There are too many lazy owners and aggressive/timid/dogs that don't like other dogs for it to be safe.  Owners think all dogs enjoy interacting with strange dogs but that isn't true.

I wouldn't take my dog to playground while kids are playing but, I think it is ok if no one is around.

Yes, clearly we do need to rehash this because you still aren’t getting it.  I do not want your dog peeing and pooping in the playground even if no kids are present.  Playgrounds are NOT for dogs. Anytime. Period.  [/quote]

Maybe. But that still doesn't make it okay for you to bring your dog into the playground.
