Wtf, op. Your stereotypes are bizarre. If anything the only stereotype about Subaru owners is they’re smart and sensible. My FIL used to run a dealership and he said all kinds of people bought subarus. The common thread was they tended to be financially responsible, they would either pay cash or have good credit and get the lowest interest.
That is fascinating. I bought my last one cash. I think it's because they are not showy.
We paid cash for our Subaru at Fitzgerald in Rockville. When we were dealing with the accounts payable/finance guy to pay for the car, he told us half the Subarus they sell are to cash buyers. That's pretty insane. I think its because - as you said - they are not showy and you get a sh#t-ton of tech and features for a Subaru that cost extra in Toyotas, Lexus, etc.
I'm the person whose FIL used to manage dealerships and he worked for a couple automakers...he said Subaru had the most cash buyers and also the most loyal customers.
I bought mine in cash but in VA, because the subaru dealership in MoCo was all out of the newer models. I had to go on a waitlist.
