She is from Spain. She travels back to her hometown in the show and and is received as a hero essentially I don’t speak any of the romance languages, but I found myself wondering if she and her boyfriend and friends were speaking in Spanish or in Portuguese or both? What do the kids speak or do they know both? I know the two languages have similarities, but I don’t know enough to know which language they were speaking one while watching. A lot of The scenes she was with her friends from Spain and the eldest son; so is she speaking Spanish with her Spanish friends and not in Portuguese to Portuguese son. don’t know. Just something I was interested in.
I imagine that since Ronaldo had a very long career at Real Madrid his oldest son speaks Spanish (and probably Portuguese because I saw a documentary about Ronaldo a few years ago before this girlfriend and his mother/the grandmother was pretty much the nanny, so I assume she spoke to him in Portuguese). I believe when this current show is filmed, Ronaldo is living in Italy playing for Juventus. Now he's back in England. So maybe all of them speak as many languages as the Pope, who knows.
I speak both Spanish and Portuguese. Georgina is Spanish. Her accent is very clearly Spanish (not Argentine) and she talks about growing up in Spain in the show (plus, Spain talks about it a lot). Internet says she was born in Argentina but apparently was only born there then whisked away to Spain. There are a lot of Portuguese in the show who speak to her in Portuguese and she responds in Spanish. This is common between Portugues-Spanish. You can usually understand one if you speak the other, though maybe unable to speak it. Ronaldo speaks both fluently and he speaks in both Sp/Por with her. She speaks in Spanish with the kids, including oldest. They respond in Spanish. Ro speaks in Port with kids. I know his oldest speaks Portuguese fluently but not sure about the toddlers.
