1) It was a serious question about how much OP donates to charity each year. It did not state that she was "obligated" to do so. Your defensiveness is on you. Anyway, she answered zero. 
2) But to respond to a point that you made: t is a gross misstatement that "so little of that money goes to the cause" [sic]. You can tell yourself that to justify your choices, but the truth is that it depends on the organization. Anyone can use Charity Navigator or perform other due diligence to get this information.
