So you carry no official ID?  Every time I go to the doctor, they want my drivers license and insurance card.  Do you not fly?  You need a drivers license or official ID for that (it's not impossible to fly without it, but it makes it 1000% easier).  Buy alcohol?  Many places require the server check not matter how old the person looks.  I am almost 60 and get carded occasionally, and some grocery stores input my age from my DL.  I needed my license last when I just purchased a new phone in the carrier store last month.  You haven't bought a new phone from your carrier?

A photo ID is required for obtaining medicaid, medicare and social security, obtaining a mortgage/refinancing, renting a car, buying some cold medications, opening a bank account - the list goes on.

In other words, I don't believe your license is expired or you have another acceptable form of ID like a passport, so stop with your nonsense.  If you truly have no way to officially identify yourself, then yes, you might have to get a free ID card.  [/quote]

DP. I lived with an expired license for 10 years. When you live in an urban area with public transportation you don’t need one. At one point ai lost the expired id so lived without it for several years.

You should have an ID to vote.  If you want to vote, get an ID.

I don't get this obsession with finding fringe cases of people who can't or won't get an ID.
