The game is afoot! And by game, I mean the uniquely American pastime of electioneering. Hypothesis: both Rs and Ds perceive the votes of Asian Americans as being in play. Supporting evidence: (1) why else would the observations of Matt Taibbi on the election results in Loudon County (https://taibbi.substack.com/p/loudoun-county-virginia-a-culture), the epitome of local politics, get pushed out nationally (see https://www.theamericanconservative.com/dreher/schools-immigration-loudoun-county-critical-race-theory/), and, shortly thereafter, (2) why else would Wax's comments, presumably only of direct consequence to her students, similarly get pushed nationally (https://www.thedailybeast.com/racist-penn-law-prof-amy-wax-makes-disturbing-claim-us-is-better-off-with-fewer-asians).
Not quite sure what you’re talking about regarding Taibbi. The VA governor’s race attracted national attention. So did Loudoun County. He posted a remarkably good piece about it.
