Numbers go up if you include controlling behaviors and mental abuse. Every women and young women should read Lundy Bancroft’s books, particularly “Why Does He Do That? Inside the Minds of Controlling and Abusive Men”. Bancroft worked with abusive men for 15 years and shares what he learned from them. Helps you see the red flags and learn to listen to your gut.[/quote] Not discounting this for women but there is a significant amount of abuse against men that goes unreported. more than 90% of men never mentions this to anyone due to shame and it is coming out a lot these days during metal health studies.
