Please tell me what other industries are shutting down because of pregnant women? Do you think pregnant doctors, pharmacists, grocery store workers, etc. are getting paid to work from home in a position that clearly doesn’t work virtually? And I say this as a pregnant woman who has had to go into the office recently while pregnant. My kids continue to go to in-person school. My DH has had to go into the office.

The world isn’t going to shut down for me because I chose to reproduce during a pandemic and I fully knew that going in. It’s frankly psychotic that anyone would suggest we further sacrifice the education of thousands of children because a teacher (who should be fully vaxxed/boosted) may get a virus that I have yet to see a single news article/medical study showing significant increase of risk for vaccinated mothers. Literally the only articles/studies I have read (and I’ve read many as a pregnant person during COVID) show heightened risk of death, stillbirth, etc. for unvaccinated women. If she does not want to do her job, then she can forgo a paycheck like so many others had to do throughout the pandemic who were not given the option of working from home without pay. [/quote]
