For potatoes, I've used the Lipton onion soup recipe and threw it in the crockpot in the morning. Only takes a few hours and people loved them: https://www.liptonkitchens.com/recipes/onion-roasted-potatoes/
Nice sounding. Easy. And this isn’t a crockpot recipe. How does that work? How do you keep from sticking? Do you add anything else to this?
I don't think I put anything else in but it didn't take more than 4 hours or so on high (I think). Honestly, you could just bake them in the oven and put in the crockpot to keep warm. Here is a recipe I found online: https://www.themagicalslowcooker.com/slow-cooker-lipton-onion-potatoes/ Note: I just cut mine into chunks and they did not look nearly this pretty--still tasted good!
