No need to publicize these property crimes. These retailers have insurance to cover any loss or damage. Don’t give trumpians any ammo to use against BIPOC.
Wow, what? Racist much? Also, so you realize that some BIPOC also are business owners? And, insurance covers loss or damage? Not quite how it works. Costs get passed on to consumers. Possibly also BIPOC. So weird.
Not only that, but the business typically suffers terribly while the repairs are done over the course of 8 weeks to several months or even a year. It is not a crime with no victims. Everyone in the community loses from these crimes. There were a rash of broken windows in Chinatown / Gallery Place last year along these lines. Large span tempered glass / spandrel panels often costs 10k plus and take months to order / ship for the large custom panes. Retailers and landlords sometimes have to pay out of pocket just to get the order in,, and be reimbursed 6 mos later. Depending on the size of the business, this money might empty a restaurant owner's emergency account or their private savings.
They have insurance. No one is hurt. Besides the insurance companies are filthy rich corporations likely owned by white people.
