Those people aren't journalists - they're columnists.  They just write about whatever they want and share opinions and experiences.  They aren't "news" columns.  Just like John Kelly and maybe somewhat arguably Jay Matthews.[/quote]

I think you mean the columnists aren't reporters, although most of them usually were at one point.  Either way, her column was utterly predictable and yet, even so, Yorktown is behind other schools when it comes to clamping down on boorish behavior.  I've seen Yorktown kids waltz into the Yorktown gym drunk and high.  I've seen them show up at other schools similarly impaired.  Other schools have had similar incidents, but they do more to tell students in that condition they aren't welcome at school events or on school property.  YHS will catch up eventually.  [/quote]
