I don't see anything large in the Edgewood area.  I guess Washington Met (KC Lewis) which is near McMillen could work if they constructed something bigger, but I think DCPS would be foolish to part with a building in a central location like that.  Unless there's some secret deal for them to have Spingarn (which I also doubt), I think they'll have to look to privately owned land.

Washington Met building would be one target. 75K sq ft is ample.  DCPS wanted it for swing space but not accessible to many schools in modernization pipeline. Dorothy Height and Raymond EC may be good candidates.

Old Banneker building would be another, but the Center City MS advocates (Shaw) have that as a target. No firm commitment to open DCPS middle school.

Spingarn has could be W7 candidate but better candidate is Winston EC near Hillcrest in W8[/quote]
