But it is undisputed that the education level of the mother is the single most predictive factor of a kid's success in school. In addition, kids with lower socio-economic status perform much better when in school with kids who are middle and upper-middle class. Is it possible to have poor kids perform very well in a school where all kids are poor? Of course. It's just a lot harder. And DC's track record in such situations isn't exactly setting the world on fire. [/quote]
