Use your Google and learn that the UK article was a bit more in-depth about why it's an issue.  It applies to houses in the US and to your spoiled half-gallon.

You are absolutely, 100% wrong. The sewage system in the UK is much more archaic than here in the US. Often it goes untreated into waterways. Literally just dumped in the rivers or the sea.

Our waste water if you live in a city goes to water treatment plants. The bacterial issues with milk are handled there. It's absolutely fine. That's why we can have garbage disposals for food in our sinks and they can't.
