I am “quibbling” about Nolan because Nolan has previously made completely disrespectful statements about the council people who voted not to fund the SROs going forward.  Rather than agree to a proves for discussing whether SROs should return and if so, what it would look like, Nolan just wanted to get her way immediately.   I think the safety concerns are real but I think the downsides of having police permanently in school is real too.  [/quote]

So if the “building is on fire” (I am not saying it is not), why isn’t Hutchings doing more than whining about how hard everything is and begging for City Council to vote back funding for the SRO funding which is not a practical immediate solution.  What I mean is that APD has reassigned the previous SROs by now and who knows if they are even still with APD.

What Hutchings should be doing is talking with the APD chief of police and/or the Mayor / City Manager about immediate police support from patrol officers to contend with the “building being on fire.”   Hutchings should be talking about how and why his security department has failed and what is going to be done about it.  Hutchings did not nothing about that.  ACPS/Hutchings are just trying to pass the buck on responsibility for what has occurred and for actually fixing it in the short term.[/quote]

The sueprintendent holds no sway over City Council. The role doesn't even enjoy a vote on all things school related. That something like this can occur without the actual stakeholders (students, teachers, sup, principals, etc) having an official voice is just pathetic.

It reminds me of the obscene power your HMO holds over the outcome of the decisons you DR makes.

Who knows whats best for your health? Your GP or your HMO's 23 year old call center staffer?

Who knows whats best for the schools? The families of the students, the career educators, the principals or 3 nitwits clamoring for woke points?
