Half of flu cases are asymptomatic. It’s not necessarily a bad thing. The exposures may be like boosters for all we know.

And what if we looked at the long term symptoms?  I know someone wheelchair bound from a common cold virus.  Another person who got myocarditis after a generic viral illness he caught from his daycare kid.  Many people would never leave their houses if they knew about all the things that could theoretically go wrong after any viral exposure.[/quote]

Given the risk tolerance in this area, I agree. We have never put a respiratory virus under a microscope like we have with Sars Cov 2.

Not sure how so many parents here have lived with RSV (honestly hoping for a vaccine) and flu in years past. I know a child who fought for her life after contracting RSV at daycare this Spring. And it certainly can cause long-term symptoms as well.
