To this I just say meh.  I carry one of these quite often and I guess the spout can get dirty but I'll wipe it on my shirt if it's visibly sandy or whatever, but otherwise... I just drink from it I guess.  I rarely get sick, but I am certainly not going to get sick from my own water bottle making physical contact with other items in my bag or even on the floor.  I just don't really think that's where most of our germ transmission comes from.[/quote]

Yeah I can appreciate the inside of your bag and some people are fine with food off the floor (and it’s not like you don’t get your hands dirty and then touch mouth all day). I just wasn’t sure if we were doing it wrong since it seemed so exposed. [/quote]
