Do Maury and Brent parents seriously not see a problem with their kids attending majority white schools in a city that is majority-minority? I always wonder this about SWS too. It’s not that I don’t understand that it’s no individual parent’s “fault” that this is the case, but… doesn’t it bother you? Of course we all want our kids to get a good education, but one question I’d ask myself is what we are teaching our kids when we tell them the best schools are the whitest schools. Do you not think they pick up in this stuff? Trust me: by MS they know exactly what the score is. That’s part of the education you are giving them too.
I am so confused about what you want white people to do? We are to carefully spread ourselves around to all the public schools so that the exact demographics of the city are reflected in each school? We are to value the number of black vs. white children in the school above any metric of actual education? What does THAT teach our children about race—that they are somehow NEEDED in schools? The white savior complex is extremely toxic and, believe me, most of these majority black schools DON’T WANT YOU! You are so full of it.
