I’m not a dog person and I do think people generally see that as a negative thing about me. I’m a good person—warm, loving, thoughtful, etc. Im a nurturer by nature, a teacher, love kids and babies, etc. I don’t like dogs. At all. I don’t like going to places where dogs are, I don’t like petting them, I don’t like when they jump on me or lick me. I can’t stand them. I don’t wish them harm and don’t begrudge anyone who wishes to have a dog themselves. But I basically despise dogs…I put on a good show pretending to like my friends’, family members’, and neighbors’ dogs and I always act interested in them/smile at them or whatever. Bc it’s expected that everyone should like dogs and if you don’t you’re probably considered by many to be a cold or bad person.
I don't think people who don't like dogs are cold, but I do think that they are either 1) scared of dogs, and probably prissy and dramatic about it; or 2) have a little bit of a control issue and don't like dogs because dogs are chaotic.
Are you me OP? I tell people nowadays I hate dogs because that’s me . I also had a random dog bite my toddler so I’m scared (not prissy scared whatever that means) and I hate that I can’t control them. And you know what I own that feeling I don’t fake it I freely share it and now family and friends don’t bother me with their stinky loud violent dogs.
