Get in store pick up at a store near you, pick it up, take it to the post office, and mail it.
This. And why are you blaming your DIL and not expecting your son to have a role and pick up the packages? I have worked from home during the pandemic and would go bat-sh*#-crazy if someone started expecting me to go to a store on my lunch “hour” (ha!) for some dollar trinket (or $1,000 item). We are freakin’ barely holding it together as families who are managing our careers, helping kids stay educated and entertained in a dramatically different world and dealing with our own sense of existential crises, that running nonsense errands for someone who is doing none of the actual work would be fairly last on my to-do list. Just pick up the items yourself and when you have enough to be worth the shipping, pop it in the mail yourself.
