I'm a white dude, and I don't see anything particularly to fear about a white people being a smaller percentage of the population. I don't feel any affinity toward any racial group. I'd like to see education levels increase because I do feel affinity toward the educated.
I agree.
that's probably because you are not insecure. Only insecure people fear becoming a minority.
See Germany early 20th century. So many have forgotten their history. I guess we are doomed to repeat it.
I am confused about what this response means. Are you suggesting that white people will be persecuted by a pluralistic multiethnic majority? Can I just say that you all are not that special, that Indians and Hispanics and Chinese Americans are going to get together to go after you? White people are destroying themselves without any help.
I wonder if this was used as a counter argument back in Pre-WW2 days.
Please actually respond to the question: do you believe that white people (whatever that means) are on route to being persecuted? How? By whom? I really want to know, as a non-white immigrant. I could not care less about persecuting white people but my casual observation is that “white” culture in general is in precipitous decline all by itself- from evangelicals to Trump to the Opioid crisis. When I look at my white colleagues they seem to lack community and strong relationships.
Wow. I'm not going to answer your question but I just have to point out the obvious (to me, anyway)...... Let'e rephrase the bolded.... I could not care less about persecuting black people or I could not care less about persecuting Asian people or I could not care less about persecuting brown people or I could not care less about persecuting Jewish people or I could not care less about persecuting Muslim people...... I could go on. Why, pp, did you feel the need to make this statement?
Ok, I’ll explain it to you. The pp is making a roundabout argument that “others” such as myself, are on our way to persecuting them or sending them to death camps or something. It’s wildly offensive and hyperbolic and I just want pp to know that I do not actually care about white people- they are the majority.. They do not occupy much headspace for me. And the truth is- I see things like the Opioid crisis and I shrug, just as we all shrug at the crisis in Baltimore. The truth is- as a community, we don’t care about Americans in peril. We DON’T care about black people, or poor white people. And I DEFINITELY don’t care about white people who think they are being persecuted because they are on their way to being a minority. Honestly, a lot of the white people I know are married to people of color. I am younger and people in my social class mix a lot more. I would never be in favor of any sort of persecution but I particularly don’t understand how the hyperbolic pp thinks white people in particular are in such grave danger. There ARE large groups of heavily armed white people who are organized and very concerned about their status in society. I am worried about our collective safety with those people around. I do not see armed groups of people of color shrieking about taking the country back from white people. So that is what I mean when I say I don’t care about white people. I really mean, I don’t think about white people, and I don’t care about their problems as a group.
