I now know of five people personally who have had breakthrough COVID, despite being vaxxed. One of them is a teacher.
Were any of the actually sick?
DP who also knows multiple people who are breakthrough. None are sick enough to need a hospital, so the vaccine is working. Many have what feel like a bad cold, and therefore can transmit the virus. We're again trying to do both by vaccinated and masking, protect ourselves and reduce transmission.
Wow - a cold! I hope they're alright. #staysafe With the new mask guidance, I'm not wearing a mask and neither is my child under 12. It was based on (a) an Indian study rejected for peer review and (b) a study during bear week at Provincetown (if you don't know what a "bear" is, I high suggest you give it a Google). Vaccines work and my unvaccinated under 12 is at less COVID risk than I am vaccinated. Riding in a car is more dangerous to me or them. 18 months in, it's time to live life. Some people, especially in Arlington (like a certain stationery saleswoman), really don't want this to end. As for testing athletes, what a waste of resources for such a low-odds thing. Check out VDH data on breakthrough infections and how rare they are. Of those, I wonder their age and comorbidities. It'd be great if we had a health agency that provided more transparency on the most relevant factors for COVID.
This comment too. The way you passive aggressively try to call out a person who isn't part of the conversation anymore. Also, I'm pretty certain I know who you are.
