I think so. The other consequence is that people who have a lot to lose when crime rises are basically incapacitated by intoxication. Too mellow to complain as the city goes to the dogs. Seriously, look how often ordinary people post on DCUM about "partaking." Bowser and our idiotic councilmembers have all those people's votes because she facilitated their little habit. Now they can do whatever they want and not enough voters are in any condition to care.[/quote]

A DC politician did tell me she pays attention when her phone (or email) blows up. That's why I occasionally post the DC Council contact info here. They do respond to pressure. Use it!
