So, I planned all my travel to return 10 days before school starts. I don't understand why this is so hard to do?
This is currently affecting working parents with kids in daycare, preventing travel to visit family.
But it isn't NEW guidance. I have little empathy parents of DCPS/Charter kids with houses Maine they rented for the whole month of August.
No worries, we're not going to let it affect us. We're just going to show up on day one. Never fear.
Maine's vaccination rates are among the top 5 in the country and the state had a lower rate of COVID than DC throughout the entire pandemic. This is about you basking in moral superiority and turning COVID into a virtue signaling exercise, versus sound public health advice. This guidance may have been fine for Christmas 2020, but the facts have changed since then.
True for PP and DCPS/DC DOH
Personally I think they're just being lazy and not thinking things through because the only people practically impacted are elementary school children. It's just like the no notice Juneteenth school closing. The people in charge don't care because almost every other population can just ignore it because of prohibitions on asking about vaccination status.
