Not sure how true this is, but I've heard of people getting into the JL in a "less competitive" city only to transfer their membership to a more "competitive" southern chapter for years now.  Same with sororities: pledge, say, KKG at a "lesser" school and then transfer to Alabama, Clemson, wherever.[/quote]
