My dog doesn't have a sensitive stomach and so I've tried lots of different foods (plus she gets some pretty nice treats like greenies, hot dog, cooked chicken breast, egg, yogurt, ice cream, etc. ). She likes the costco salmon and sweet potato nature's choice which is her standard. The less expensive dog food Costco had, she didn't really like and she wasn't as keen on the turkey flavor. She has pretty bad allergies so we did a full elimination diet where she ate ONLY hydrolyzed protein food for 3 months (Royal Canin that I had to order special). She LOVED it, I thought it smelled gross, and it was so expensive. AND FYI she's not allergic to any foods, it turns out to be dust mites and mold. But I still get her different version of the Royal Canin sometimes because she gets bored of the same food all the time. I chose her food because she likes it (and she will ignore her food if she doesn't like it) and I know it has a complete set of nutrients and she's not allergic to it. I was also a puppy raiser for guide dogs of america and they had us feed the dogs Purina one puppy then Purina one regular. And those dogs were worth a fortune and everyone was committed to their health, so I figure it must be okay food.
