I can only imagine what his wife’s two years of life after his death were like - tortured, I bet. Imagine finding out someone you so adored and admired was betraying you for three decades. AND giving hundreds of thousands of marital income to a mistress and her children.[/quote]

Finding out your life was a rouse and who you are with and what you imagined was not real.  Been there.

It is so traumatic, it causes almost a psychotic break.  It’s almost impossible to reorient.  You can’t trust anything ever again.  My brain literally hurts as it tries to repiece things, look for missing puzzle pieces and never getting the answer to “why”.  Was any of it real?  [/quote]

Kuralt's mistress had the luxury of living a lie outright.  Nasty little thing.

Kuralt went to great lengths to keep his relationship with Shannon a secret and to maintain his double life with two different partners. He was so successful that Mrs. Kuralt did not learn of Shannon's existence until her husband's funeral, the judge said.  After 2 decades the mistress finally conceded he would never divorce or leave his wife.

Wtf? Why in the hell would somebody want two different families?  He acted like a father and wrote letters to the mistress’ children and paid their tuition. Mistress obviously was in it for the $$$$, but him?  What a lot of work to keep bicoastal families.[/quote]
