Wow, I somehow missed that news about Charles Kuralt. Another childhood idol smashed by cruel reality. What a beast. I can only imagine what his wife’s two years of life after his death were like - tortured, I bet. Imagine finding out someone you so adored and admired was betraying you for three decades. AND giving hundreds of thousands of marital income to a mistress and her children.[/quote]

Finding out your life was a rouse and who you are with and what you imagined was not real.  Been there.

It is so traumatic, it causes almost a psychotic break.  It’s almost impossible to reorient.  You can’t trust anything ever again.  My brain literally hurts as it tries to repiece things, look for missing puzzle pieces and never getting the answer to “why”.  Was any of it real?  [/quote]

Kuralt's mistress had the luxury of living a lie outright.  Nasty little thing.

They psychologically killed the wife who had to discover 30 years of her life was a complete lie and that her husband was a con artist.
