Our nanny is never on her phone and never leaves the kids unsupervised.  I’ve rarely seen any other nanny do what you’re accusing all nannies of doing either.

Our nanny has all her classes done for a masters in Early Childhood Development.  My kids are off the charts in language and reading because of her.  She always has them engaged and learning while having fun.  As a former preschool teacher, she has a skill set that neither DH nor I possess.  The way she balances the day is impressive and we’ve had a full year of watching her up close.

You’re unnecessarily jumping like boiling water. I was not bashing all nannies, only the many I’ve seen throughout these 5 years in public places. My kids were hit by unsupervised mean kids and I had to be the one intervening to prevent injuries.[/quote]

And every single unsupervised child is at the park with a nanny?  Give me a break.  I've seen several parents literally juggling an infant, toddler, phone and laptop while they try to wfh, even before covid.[/quote]

+1. I’m always curious as to how nanny-bashers seem to know the women on their phones are nannies and the engaged women are mothers or grandmothers.

Our nanny is very attentive and engaged with our kids and everyone thinks she’s their grandmother.  My BFF is Latina with a blond kid and everyone thinks she’s his nanny.  [/quote]
