I hate DCUM sometimes. You all read way too much into it. It’s not begging. It’s being on good terms with friends and neighbors who invite you to their club and realize you might be a good fit. So they suggest that they’d sponsor you in passing conversation. That’s my experience at least. People don’t always have ulterior motives. Sometimes they are waiting for the right time in their life to explore these things (eg, established enough in their careers, kids old enough, etc). But whatever, it’s clearly absurd for the PP to inquire anonymously about this. To learn about the club and process without having to look stupid for doing so. I thought that’s what posts like this were for.
Well if you hate the judgment like that on here, then you wont do well at these country clubs. it's ALL about judging and identifying the social climbers and steering clear of the social leech types. So people are going to notice. If you're okay with that, join. If you cant stand people raising an eyebrow- well, you're not going to suddenly find acceptance and "no judgement" at a country club of all places.
no it's not. Do you belong to one of them? Most people, particularly at Kenwood, are the exact opposite. Sure you will have bad eggs everywhere, but good lord don't just spew crap that isn't true. Why do people on this site frown at people who want to play golf!? There are no good public courses remotely convenient to the DC area. The fact that I joined a club wasn't to feel superior, it was to play golf when I want, at a nice course, will little delay or congestion.
I actually do, so I would know. And considering your word usage and spelling, I can tell that you don't. At least not any good one.
But I do... I guess I don't care if I mistype on an anonymous forum. Whatever makes you feel better, bud. You may need new friends if you think it's ALL about judging and identifying social climbers.
